Charles Laros Originally from Pennsylvania, Charles (Chuck) moved to Florida in 1979 to further his career as a architectural draftsman. In 2003, Chuck retired and moved to Ellijay with his lovely wife, Pat. Chuck's interests include photography, sketching, drawing, stained glass and wood working. In 1975, Chuck received an award for his photograph of a barn owl. In 2002, he was again honored for his stained glass work of two elephants. Charles is mostly self taught, but has taken classes in photography and stained glass. He is extremely talented and meticulous. Some of his favorite pieces are in the prairie style, reminiscent of Frank Lloyd Wright. His pieces are all hand-made and either brandished with copper foil or joined with lead came as the old style windows were. Chuck was in the gallery only one day, when he was commissioned to do a special piece for someone's home. |
