Danette Ozment

Danette Ozment was born in Rome, Georgia and had the good fortune to move to the beautiful mountains of Ellijay in 1975. Ellijay became home and many dear and lasting friendships developed.  In her 34 years in education she has served as a Special Education Teacher, Special Education Director and is currently the Assistant Superintendent for the Gilmer County School System.

Danette is married to Lynn and they have two sons, Brian and Justin.  She also has two beautiful grandchildren who have been a tremendous gift and the source of many hours of joy.  Being a Nona is truly one of the greatest gifts in life!!

As a 7/18/10lework, however, with the birth of children and job responsibilities those activities quickly went by the wayside.  With retirement in the near future, it seemed a good time to resume some type of hobby.  With all the beautiful yarns available today and enjoys using a variety of fibers and textiles to make scarves, and shawls.
