'Jyspy Jone' Womack

I am a Georgia native and currently reside in Dahlonega, Georgia with my husband.
I love to travel and spend time in nature, which has provided great opportunities for
photographing my favorite subjects: natural landscapes and wildlife. My primary focus
has been trying to capture the natural beauty of Georgia and Alaska, where I spend a lot
of time. I love trying to capture the essence of my home state and the beauty of nature in
a way that hopefully “speaks” to others and draws them into the landscapes I create.
My passion for photography began in 1995 when I was given a camera for Mother’s Day.
After several years of self-instruction, I attended Photography courses at Kennesaw State
University. I also completed a home-study course with the New York Institute of
Photography.
In 2007, I decided to start my own business by combining the things I love most:
photography, travel and being in nature. Because I travel so often, my nickname is
“Jypsy Jone” (pronounced Joan), and I decided to use this nickname for my business.
In November 2007, I entered my first photo contest and took two first place honors. In
June 2008 I signed a contract with See Rock City, Inc. to do two brochures for their web
site. See Rock City, Inc. also sells my photographs online and in their Rock City, Incline
Railway and Battles For Chattanoog
sold at the Olde Cannery Art Gallery in Dahlonega, Georgia, the Apple Country Artists
Gallery in Ellijay, Georgia and the Abreu Fine Art Gallery in Blue Ridge, Georgia.
I truly love what I do and hope that it shows in my work. |
